‘Tattoo Artist’ comes to Ireland!!
In a major coup for the IHRA, it was confirmed this week that ‘Tattoo Artist’ will be the sole stallion for the IHRA’s Investor in Ourselves programme for 2024. Negotiations between Eric Cherry (syndicate manager) & IHRA have been ongoing. In a further development from previous years, Tattoo Artist will also be available to UK owners and is available at Talgrwn Stud.
‘Tattoo Artist’ has an incredible record; P, 2,1:52.0s; 3,1:48.2s; 5,1:47.1s ($ 2,822,098). He is a son of Meadowlands Pace winner ‘He’s Watching’ p,3,1:46.4 ($1,129,215) and out of Breeders Crown winner ‘Stylish Artist’ p,3,1:51 ($940,022), Tattoo Artist has raced at the top level from his two-year-old season through this year’s campaign as a six-year-old.
While standing in New Jersey at $10,000, ‘Tattoo Artist is available in Ireland at €4,500 and in the UK for £4,500.
The aim of this venture is to raise funds that can go back directly into the industry as price money. The prizemoney will be especially earmarked for 2, 3 & 4 year old pacing races as well as prizemoney for the Irish American Wknd & The Red John Memorial.

Here are some interesting facts that we compiled for Tattoo Artist over the weekend.
- He won 2.8 plus million according to the US records or 3.2 million in Canada . While winning 42% of his 96 starts. And finished 2nd 20% of the time.
- He has won on every size track (1/2, 5/8, 7/8 and mile. He did this while setting many track and stake records.
- He paced his back half in 52.1, coming from 7th at the half in defeating Bythemissal, Allywag Hanover, etc to win the Canadian Pacing Derby .
- He paced his last quarter in 25.4 or faster 10 times.
- He only raced in NW 6 times during his career. Three of those were to start his 3 year old campaign.
- He was only scratched once his entire career. And that was being sick early in his 2yr old year.
- He never afibbed, tied up, or choked.
- He loved to race. And is the perfect horse to be around.
- Last, and definitely not least, in 2022 he was 2nd to Bulldog Hanover in the Breeders Crown, TVG, and Canadian Pacing Derby.
