Mr. Seamus Corey R.I.P
It is with regret that we learn of the death of Seamus Corey from Belfast, we would like to take this opportunity to extend our condolences to his wife Sheila, his sons and daughters Karen, Jacqueline, Michelle, Jim, Kevin, Coreinne, Sheleen, Marietta and the late Stella.
Seamus was a lifelong enthusiast and supporter of harness racing as an owner, trainer, driver, and breeder. Some of his most notable achievements came with a horse named Sly Misty which he purchased in the 1980’s and quickly grew into the FFA class, he later purchased his dam Mystery Girl, and she became the foundation mare producing 14 foals all of which made it to the racetrack with Flight Invader being one of the standouts.
He embraced the Le Trot program purchasing a number of French trotters including Amitie Briangault and Flash Mac De Couet, he was a regular visitor at the Prix D’Amerique in Vincennes.
He leaves a long legacy to the Standardbred racing and breeding industry and will be remembered as one of the visionaries of his era, he has now passed on the torch for his son Kevin and his grandson Adam to carry on his legacy.
