The IHRA are pleased to confirm that the IHRA has been awarded funding by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine’s Equine Technical Support Scheme for the following project.
Mobile Public Address System
The Irish Harness Racing Association (IHRA) used grant funding to purchase a mobile public address (PA) system, ensuring that communications at horse sales, breeding shows, and harness racing events are delivered clearly and professionally. The system plays a vital role in supporting Irish breeders and owners by enabling well-managed sales events where horses can be effectively marketed to both domestic and international buyers.
The PA system has already been deployed at sales and shows across the country, improving the delivery of announcements, marketing messages, and safety instructions. This investment allows the IHRA to expand its reach, attract new owners into the industry, and showcase Irish harness racing to broader markets.
By improving communication capacity, the project strengthens the professionalism of IHRA events, enhances the visibility of Irish-bred horses, and provides a better experience for buyers, sellers, and spectators. The project demonstrates responsible use of grant funding and contributes directly to the growth and sustainability of the harness racing sector in Ireland.
