A review of the integrity function of the Irish Harness Racing Association (IHRA) is being undertaken by the IHRA board and the Veterinary Welfare Commission (VWC) . VWC has, up to now, regulated the integrity function.
IHRA and VWC will work together to develop and adopt a revised rule book and updated oversight arrangements over the next number of weeks. VWC will, in the short term, continue to facilitate on-track blood sampling by trained veterinary surgeons, with oversight being carried out directly by IHRA.
