With the completion of the 2025 Performance Authentication program, it is fair to say
that it has been a success given the available funding from the Department of
Agriculture Food & Marine. We envisage that both the 2024 & 2025 programs are a
template to build on over the coming years as we have achieved positive test findings
with samples taken from horses in the three different operating environments, pre
race, post-race and out of competition within these programs with both blood and hair
sampling being conducted.
The Laboratory confirmed results from 125 samples in 2025 have resulted in 11
positive findings for the presence of prohibited substances which include
Triamcinolone Acetonide, Dexamethasone, Omeprazole & Lidocaine. This equates to
a 9% rating of positive findings which is considered within industry norms.
