The Irish Harness Racing Association participated in the National Ploughing Championships 2025 with a dedicated trade stand to promote harness racing and the breeding of trotters and pacers in Ireland. The event provided a direct platform to engage with rural communities, farmers, equestrian enthusiasts, and potential new entrants to the industry. Over three days, the IHRA team distributed targeted educational material, hosted live information sessions, and facilitated networking between breeders, owners, and industry representatives. This initiative successfully raised awareness of the breeding sector, showcased sales opportunities, and highlighted the commercial and sporting potential of harness racing in Ireland. The project delivered on its core objectives by educating the public, connecting with prospective breeders, and supporting Irish owners in marketing their horses to a wider audience.
This exhibition stand was funded through the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine’s Equine Technical Support Scheme 2025.
