Camden Stud has announced sponsorship of the entire race-card at Portmarnock in Dublin on 28th October as a thank-you gesture towards the Irish who supported York Raceway and also the annual sale in 2012.
The meeting will feature a heat and final of the Camden Stud Sheild, 2 trots (low grade handicap and FFA) and a preferred free-for-all for the highest grades aswell as races for maidens and novices too. Prizemoney for this meeting will be lucrative and already interest in racing on the day has come from all the top training stables in England, Scotland and Wales. Mick Welling, promoter of the Camden Stud will be on hand to present the winners on the day while briefing those who attend on the yearlings Camden hope to have in the 2013 sale
Portmarnock has proven to be a happy hunting ground for many UK trained raiders over the past year with the Mathers, Laidlers, O’Neills, Haythornthwaites, Evans yards among those who have hit the target and headed back on the ferry with a fistful of euros but more importantly full to the brim of famed Irish hospitality!
