Following yesterday’s deadline for mare submissions, the IHRA are delighted with the response from all of our breeders who inquired and nominated their broodmares for the stallion services available as part of the “Invest in Ourselves” initiative 2021.
We are delighted to confirm that all services on offer will be filled. The IHRA breeding committee, in conjunction with the stallion farms, will now process the nominations and connections will be notified shortly.
The achievement in filling all 24 services for the upcoming breeding season, means not alone will we be evolving our racing bloodlines, but we will also be increasing the race purses for juvenile pacers going forward, with 90% of the revenue from the services going back into racing. It will be invested into premium fixtures with feature juvenile races in the 2021 racing season and in addition a progeny purse will be created for all offspring born through this scheme from 2024.
The level of support has surpassed all expectations and targets and we would like to sincerely thank all owners who have messaged us and subsequently nominated their mares for the services. It is great to see that our members want to grow this sport and invest in themselves simultaneously.
