The 2016 Trotteur Francais program will be the richest to-date with a target of €300,000 in total prize money to be raced for at all four tracks, Annaghmore, Cork, Dundalk & Portmarnock. The stakes payment which is due before each horse races is set at €500 per horse.
All Trotteur Francais races in Dundalk will be premium races with a minimum of €4,000 per race based on 12 horses per race.
The season kicks off in Portmarnock on Sunday 24th April with all Trotteur Francais races being premium races and carrying prize money of €2,800 per race based on 8 horses in a race. Similarly the first meeting at Annaghmore on Saturday 14th May and Cork at Inchydoney Strand on Sunday 22nd May will also be premium meetings.
All premium meetings will have a entry fee of €150.
The remaining non premium meetings will be held at Annaghmore, Cork & Portmarnock and will carry an average purse of €1800 per race based on 8 runners (pro rata with less runners) with an entry fee of €100.
