The IHRC would like owners/trainers who may be in a position to put forward a complete team including Horse/Sulky/Driver/Chef d’Equipe and a Groom to represent our sport at the uncoming Horse Sport Ireland Affiliates Parade in conjunction with the 3 day Punchestown Racing Festival on April 29th to put their nomination in writing by email correspondence to [email protected] including a few current photos of the horse being nominated. Our selection will have to be conveyed to HSI on or before close of business on Monday 7th April so unfortunately time is of the essence in this respect.
The following are the general guidelines requested by HSI.
AFFILIATE PARADE NOMINEES
- You must provide one (1) horse/pony and one (1) exhibitor (rider/driver/leader) to represent your sport/discipline.
- You must also provide a second representative to act as Chef d’Equipe on the day.
- You will be issued with four (4) complimentary HSI branded tickets for each group of parade participants, to include rider/driver/leader, Chef d’Equipe, groom and one other.
- Your organisation’s horse/pony and exhibitor must be turned out in the appropriate attire to showcase your sport/discipline. This includes relevant equipment to demonstrate to the public what’s involved. All attire and equipment must be to the highest health and safety standards.
- HSI will provide a placard/banner highlighting the name of your Affiliate and sport/discipline, which must be carried by your Chef d’Equipe in front of the exhibitor during the parade.
HORSES/PONIES
- It is the responsibility of each Affiliate to choose a horse/pony to represent their discipline/sport. The horse/pony must be of a suitable temperament to cope with crowds and unexpected noises/distractions.
